Your COVID Recovery – Change And Your Comfort Zone

I am sure you have heard this quote more than once. 

The definition of madness is: “Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.” 

Yet every one of you reading this quote, including Katy and I, have fallen foul of this more than once in our lives. 

And I get it. 

It’s just so much easier to stay where you are and not change, to carry on business as usual, unfortunately, in our COVID recovery plan that just simply isn’t going to work anymore. 

The thing is, everything that you want is always outside that comfort zone; ALWAYS. 

And so, if you’re feeling dissatisfied, you’re feeling frustrated or overwhelmed or that things aren’t happening for you quickly enough, then something needs to change, which means you will need to step outside of your comfort zone. 

And what we see consistently, which is strange, is a lot of people want to get a new and different set of results, but without making any change.  

So the first thing I want to say to you is change is inevitable, and the quicker that you realise that change is an absolute necessity, the faster you will get the results you want. 

[STOP! The silver bullet doesn’t exist. Looking for solutions that promise change without change – they simply don’t workIt is a fundamental law of the universe.] 

 

Rachel and her Change Journey 

Let me illustrate the point by sharing a few parts of Rachels story. When we first started working with her, she had several limiting beliefs. 

…. And logically these limitations were playing out in all areas of her life. 

When we first started working with her, the fee level she was commanding was about £2k. 

Here is the thing: if you want to expand your income, you have to offer more, and that is what she did! 

In the last six months, her ratios have improved, and her average order value is now £6k. 

The way she achieved this wasn’t just by increasing fees; it was by going through massive internal shifts.

Rachel busted through internal limiting beliefs, and she also went through periods where it’s been really uncomfortable for her, and the bottom line is she’s just kept moving forward. 

She decided to do what it takes to break through. 

There was a willingness to go through that fear and embrace it and even go into the unknown.  

And so that’s what we’re dealing with here.  

Fact: You know, there are no shortcuts; there are no quick wins here.  This is about embracing the fear, then taking massive action and moving through it. 

So ponder this question. What if the biggest challenge in front of you was the greatest gift to move to the next level? 

 

Your Next Level Starts With Decisions 

Accepting and embracing your next level is all about making a decisionSo when you’re faced with things not happening for you, it is time to make a decision.  

“I’m going to change this. 

Stop listening to the voice in your head that is holding you back and make a decision; claim it. 

Then you will notice interesting things start to happen when you make a decision. Whatever that decision is, the universe will almost fall over itself to then make whatever needs to happen, occur. 

Fascinating that the Latin word for decide is ‘to cut off by the way! 

So when you decide, you cut off all of the other actions that were causing all that clutter in your brain about what you should do. 

And getting rid of this clutter is so critical you can now move forward, all that clutter was giving you too many options that caused confusion and immobilised you from taking action. 

Clutter is a series of unmade decisions. And so when you are consumed by clutter, you know, whether it’s physical clutter or mental clutter, that can hold you back and weigh you down.  

So by saying yes to something means, then you say no to all of this other ‘stuff’. And that’s when your results can start to transform.

I know this as truth as this process has happened many times in my own life.
